Checkout Policy

  1. Students are allowed to check out a maximum of three books per week.
  2. All books are expected back the following week. If the books are not returned, students will not be allowed to check out another until the books are returned. However, students may use a book in the library.
  3. The first day books are overdue, students will be given a verbal reminder.
  4. The second week overdue: a reminder notice will be sent with the student.
 
Damaged or lost books:
  • If a book is lost, the students who checked it out will be expected to pay for the book. The charge will be that of the replacement cost of the book. The student may pay this in full or make payments. As soon as the child has attempted to pay for the book, he/she will be allowed to check out another.
  • A student who returns a damaged book that can be repaired and placed back on the shelf will be charged for the damage
  • If a book is damaged to the point of discard, the students who did the actual damage will pay the same cost as if it were lost. Here, again, the person who checked out the book will be held responsible for payment and my pay in full or make payments.
